"Wolf"
I just wanted to let everyone know that yesterday's post wasn't a fluke. I've actually been spending all day researching my new story and outlining the trilogy and characters that will be involved in each story. I haven't been this happy in months!

Changes and Inspirations
Earlier this week, Jon and I moved from Utah down to Austin, Texas where Jon was offered a job. It's been a big transition for us (mostly the fact that it's so dang hot here!) but already I'm feeling like everything will work out okay.
It's funny how a movie, book or song can bring about inspirations in the lives of writers, but I've never experienced it as strongly as I have this week. I thought that my desire to write crime novels was an all encompassing passion... but I've barely been able to concentrate on all my previous ideas from the moment that I saw "The 10th Kingdom" earlier this week.
Now, I have to admit that I've never loved any show (or movie) quite as much as I love this mini-series, but it wasn't the show itself that inspired me. The character of "Wolf" was so interesting to me that I've been able to think of little else since I first saw his face on screen. No, this isn't a movie-star crush, it's the fact that his character was so dynamic and just plain interesting that I feel a burning desire to give him more life.
Originally my idea started out as a fanfiction, but the scope of the idea was just so massive that I could never be satisfied sharing this story with just a few people (a minuscule amount) that are in this fandom. My head was reeling as soon as the final credits rolled across the screen "what had happened to Wolf and Virginia, their children?" It was that thought that led me to come up with a series of stories about the children I imagine them to have, all proving themselves while dealing with the problems of being different than others. Hopefully I'll be able to pull this off so that fans of the series will see the "winks and nudges" and grin, but that I won't actually infringe on the copyright.
Well, I guess I will just have to see how it goes. Goodnight all, may you have pleasant dreams... I know I will.

Update
Just a quick post because I have amazing news... I actually finished chapter 2 of "Failure." I know, I can't believe it either!! Hopefully this is the beginning of a writing trend.

Possible Detective Series?
Well, it's been quite awhile since I've updated (yet again) and mostly it's been because of Script Frenzy last month. Luckily, Aiden was a good little muse and Jon and I were able to complete all 100 pages of our script!! I'm actually pretty excited that we got the script done, it means that I can really get to work on the new revised version of "Eyes on Fire." I'm lucky to have such a wonderful writing partner, Jon really did come up with some clever dialogue and I can't wait to work it into the story.
On another much more interesting note, I kind of have this idea for a series of detective/crime drama/mystery novels. I know, I know, everyone wants to try to write about a detective that the world falls in love with and people send you millions of fan letters begging you to write yet another adventure with this character... but this feels different to me. When I had the idea for the original story (which I'm cautiously calling "Fragments") I never thought that it could turn into a series, especially not a detective series. Of course, that was before I started having dreams almost every night featuring the main character.
Now, you could just say that I've been watching too much "Criminal Minds" and "CSI" which is very possible, but I just don't think that is the case. I've been trying to find the right niche for myself for awhile now and I'm beginning to think that this is finally it. I've been interested in learning about serial killers and mysteries since my senior year in high school and lately it seems like I've been drawn to the "crime drama" genre quite a bit. I guess it will all depend on how the first two books in the series go, but I'm very hopeful.

P.S. By bringing up the detective series I'm not trying to say that I won't finish "Eyes on Fire." I am. That is all.

I am ALIVE!
Yeah, I know. It's been six months since the last time I updated and I'm sorry. I guess I can blame NaNoWriMo, being sick, moving, being sick and working on "Eyes on Fire" for the lag between my last post and this one. I am going to try to be better at updating now that I'm writing more often, but I guess we will see what happens.
As I said, I have been working on "Eyes on Fire" and I think it's coming along quite well. I mean, I actually have a plot now so that has to count for something. The hubby and I are also going to be working on a graphic novel version of "EoF" for Script Frenzy, so hopefully that will help me get more organized and get some good dialogue working for the story. It should be fun, we start a week from today so wish us luck.
In other news, I did finally get Chapter 8 of "Our New Life" done and posted it on Twilighted. I'm even working on Chapter 9, isn't that crazy? I'm actually on top of things for once! Hopefully getting back into fanfiction will help me start writing again and I'll be able to work on all sorts of things. I admit that "Failure" is at the top of my list if I can ever figure out how to start the next chapter.
I guess that's it for now, just a little update to let everyone know I'm still alive and I'm writing again. Hope everyone is doing well.

Tough Decision and Outlines
After a year of being sick all the time and never being able to work on my fanfics, I finally decided to go on a hiatus for awhile. I haven't updated "Our New Life" or "Failure" in a year, and with my migraines getting worse everyday I can't see that changing in the near future. Perhaps after Jon is done with school and we move and get settled, (in whatever city he can find a job) I can finally get a good doctor, good insurance and start fixing things. Until then, I'm focusing what little brain power I have on my original fiction. It was a frustrating decision to make, but it was the right one. It's not fair to expect everyone to wait on my next chapters when I can barely work on them at all. Hopefully things will get better after the start of the new year, but right now I just can't concentrate.
Speaking of original fiction, I finally have all the outlining done for NaNo. Short stories are definitely the way to go for me this year... simple and silly. I don't want to feel like my whole life is riding on what I'm working on, like I did last year. It was too stressful and I can't handle that with everything else going on. If you are interested in looking at my short summaries of each story let me know and I'll email the list to you.

NaNo and Stuff
Well, it's almost that time of year again. The time when madness reigns and my fingers feel like falling off because of the time spent writing. That's right, NaNoWriMo is just around the corner. I can't believe it's already been a year.
I've finally decided on a project, a collection of short stories with the interweaving theme of love. Not just romantic love, but every kind there is. Love between friends, between strangers, between parents and their children. I'm even considering a story about obsession. It all depends on the feedback of my friends.
I've been working for the past couple of weeks on a compilation of summaries of the stories that I'm considering putting in the collection. If anyone is interested in looking this over and giving me their opinions of the story ideas, let me know and I'll send you a copy. I'm continually adding ideas, so this may go through several versions.
On another note, I've been working with a friend on getting some more of my fanfiction back up to speed. "Our New Life" has about four pages so far (a lot of it needs changed) but it looks much more promising than it did before I got some help. I've also been thinking about "Failure" and how to go about this next chapter. How Bella is going to treat Edward now that she is awake is a definite struggle, but it's coming along.
I also have an idea for a new story, which is frustrating for me because I have so many other projects that need my attention. What to do, what to do...
